Q: How to apply for the visa?
Ans: To apply for a Hungary visa in Baku, you can walk in to our Visa Application Center between 08:30-14:30 (Mon-Fri except Consular/national holidays) for submissions and between 15:00-17:00 (Mon-Fri except Consular/national holidays) for passport collection. Q: Do I need to come personally to submit my application?
Ans: All applicants (above 12 years old) need to submit their applications in person due to the collection of biometric data (fingerprints). Applicants below 12 years old are exempted from collection of fingerprints and hence their application can be submitted by the primary applicant.

Q: Can you send me the application forms by mail or fax?
Ans: The application forms can be downloaded from the Visa Application Center's website. However The Embassy of Hungary, Baku must receive original, signed application forms.
Note: it is not possible to submit applications by post, fax or e-mail.

Q: Can I fill in my application in a language other than English?
Ans: Application forms must be filled in English, however form in Russian and Azeri can be translated in English at an additional cost.

Q: If I am travelling to 2 Schengen countries where should I apply for my visa?
Ans: If you intend to visit several Schengen countries and your duration of stay remains longest in one particular country, you are requested to apply for visa at Embassy of that particular Schengen country where you will stay for a longer period.
If you intend to visit several Schengen countries and duration of stay in those countries are same, you are requested to apply for a visa at the Embassy to the first country you enter.
If you intend to visit Several Schengen Countries but your main propose of travel is in Hungary then you are requested to apply at the Visa Application Centre in Baku.

Q: I am a regular visitor to Hungary. Do I need to provide all documentation each time I apply for visa?
Ans: Yes, Every time you apply for a Hungary visa you must supply recent supplementary documentation. You should apply in person due to collection of biometric data; availability of the previous Schengen visas still requires you to provide biometric data each time you apply for visa.

Q: I am travelling with my underage child. Is it enough to prepare one set of documents for myself and mention my child's details in the same application?
Ans: Please prepare separate set of documents for each applying person. Even if underage children, where child's details are endorsed in parent's passport or he/she has their own passport have to have a separate invitation and set of applicable documents.

Q: Should I buy my medical insurance before my visa is issued?
Ans: Yes, You must show a proof of a valid Medical Travel Insurance for the entire period of expected stay in the Schengen area and the minimum coverage amount should be 30,000 Euros.

Q: How long will I need to wait for a decision on my application?
Ans: If documents are in order decision might take maximum 2 weeks, however The Embassy of Hungary, Baku may keep passports longer in case it's needed for processing. In case of any questions regarding visa application the Embassy may require additional documentation from the applicant.

Q: How long is the visa validity for?
Ans: Visas are in general issued for the duration of stay you specify on the visa application form, always with a maximum of 90 days per 180 days.
The length of your stay in the Schengen area is limited to the number of days indicated on your visa, even if your visa-sticker has a longer validity.
If you have a multiple entry visa with a validity of one or more years, the maximum number of days indicated on the visa sticker, will always be 90 days. This only means that, if you travel frequently, you may never exceed 90 days within a six month period.

Q: Do I get my fee refunded in case of visa refusal?
Ans: No, the Visa fee is not refunded under any condition. The application fee covers the handling of the application and it cannot be refunded, regardless of the final result.

Q: Can you explain to me why my visa was refused?
Ans: A letter that explains the reason for refusal will be sent by the Embassy of Hungary along with your passport.

Q: If I am refused a visa, when can I re-apply?
Ans: You can re-apply at any time and your new application will be considered on its merits. You should be aware, that if there has been no significant change in your circumstances since the last refusal, or if you are unable to address the reasons for refusal, your application may be refused again. A previous refusal will not mean that any subsequent application will be refused automatically, unless you have submitted forged documents in with your application.
